Questions and answers

Is Somni a medical app?

No. Somni shares general sleep habits only and does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are worried about your sleep or health, talk to a doctor. The app's Help screen lists signs that mean you should see one.

Where is my sleep data stored?

On your phone. Your plan, nights, journal and coach chat stay on the device. See the privacy policy.

Do I need an account?

No. Somni works fully without one. An optional account holds only your email; backup to it is planned for a later version.

How many reminders will I get?

At most one each evening (when your wind-down starts) and one each morning (about 30 minutes after you wake). Your phone asks for permission only when you switch one on.

How is the score worked out?

Four parts: time asleep (40), a steady bedtime (25), falling asleep within 20 minutes (20), and how rested you feel (15). It is a guide, not a diagnosis.

What does the coach know about me?

By default, replies are worked out on your phone. If you turn on the optional AI coach, each question is sent with a short summary (goal, plan times, last 7 scores, sleep debt, streak) to write a better answer; never your journal. Medical questions are always answered on your phone and pointed to a doctor or pharmacist.

Who can use Somni?

Adults aged 18 and over.

When does Somni launch?

Somni is in development and will launch in Singapore first. Leave your email at the bottom of this page to hear when it is ready.

How do I delete my data?

In the app: Me, Privacy and data, Delete all my data. For an account, see Delete account.

How do I contact you?

Email somni@goldmend.com.
