1. What stays on your phone
Your profile (goal, age band, sleep problems you chose), your plan, your nights and scores, your brain dump journal, your coach conversation, your reminder and theme choices. These are stored on your phone only and are not sent to us.
By default the coach's replies are worked out on your phone. You can choose to turn on the AI coach (see below).
2. If you create an account (optional)
We store your email address and a securely hashed password with our sign-in provider, Supabase, in its Singapore region. We do not store your sleep data in your account in this version.
On your phone, the sign-in details are kept in the phone's secure keychain. Supabase sends the email that confirms your address.
3. The AI coach (optional, off until you turn it on)
If you turn on the AI coach in the Coach tab, each question you ask is sent with a short summary: your goal, your plan times, your last 7 sleep scores, your sleep debt and your streak. It goes to our coach server (run on Cloudflare) and then to Google's Gemini service to write the answer. We do not send your name, email, journal, health answers or sleep problems.
Questions about medicines, conditions, pregnancy or children are answered on your phone and never sent. You can turn the AI coach off at any time in the Coach tab. Our server does not store your questions.
4. Reminders
Reminders are scheduled by your phone. No server is involved and we do not receive anything when a reminder is shown.
5. What we never do
- We never sell or rent your data.
- There are no ad trackers in the app.
- We do not use your sleep data for advertising.
6. This website
The bedtime calculator runs in your browser; what you type is not sent to us. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address. If you join the launch list, your email is sent to the form service we use for that list, only to tell you when Somni launches.
7. Your controls
- Export your data in the app: Me, Privacy and data, Export my data.
- Delete everything on your phone: Me, Privacy and data, Delete all my data.
- Delete your account: see Delete account.
8. Security
Sign-in details are sent over encrypted connections and kept in your phone's secure keychain. To report a security problem, email security@goldmend.com.
9. Age
Somni is for adults aged 18 and over.
10. Changes
If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app before the change applies.
