The brain dump: put tomorrow on paper
Racing thoughts at bedtime? Give them somewhere to go.
Somni team · Awaiting review by a sleep clinician

Lying in bed planning tomorrow, replaying a conversation, or remembering the email you forgot to send is common. A brain dump is a simple way to park those thoughts until the morning.
How to do it
- Early in your wind-down, take a few minutes.
- Write down everything on your mind: tasks, worries, ideas. Do not organise it.
- For tasks, add one tiny next step ("email Sam about Tuesday").
- Close the notebook or app. It will be there in the morning.
Write at a desk or on the sofa, not in bed, so the bed stays a place for sleep.
In Somni
The brain dump journal keeps evening entries hidden until your wake time, so you are not tempted to reread them at night. Entries stay on your phone and are never sent to the coach.
If worry or low mood is affecting your sleep most nights, or you feel unsafe, please talk to a doctor or someone you trust. Somni is not a medical service.
