Why a steady wake time matters more than bedtime
The easiest anchor for your sleep starts in the morning.
Somni team · Awaiting review by a sleep clinician

It is hard to force yourself to fall asleep at a set time. It is much easier to get up at a set time. A steady wake time gives your day, and your next night, a reliable anchor.
Make it easy to get up
- Choose a wake time you can keep on most days, including weekends where possible.
- Get daylight soon after waking: open the curtains or step outside.
- Have something small to look forward to, like a favourite breakfast.
- Put the alarm across the room if snoozing is a habit.
Let bedtime follow
When you wake at the same time, you tend to feel sleepy at a more regular time in the evening. Your plan in Somni is built from your wake time for this reason.
When to see a doctor
If you often struggle to sleep, snore loudly, stop breathing or gasp in your sleep, or feel very sleepy in the day, talk to a doctor. Somni shares general habits and is not a medical service.
